History
This car was bought by a WW1 Galipoli Verteran who was one of the first on the beach on the 25th April , 1915 and one of the last to leave. His enlishment number was 199 and the car was registered as DR 199.
He drove the car continually until 1967 when it was parked up. It was then bought and stored for the next 27 years when It was bought in 1994 for my daughter and restored by me for her over the next 13 years taking some 6500 hours of work.
Modifications
I did a full and total restoration on the vehicle with every single component either being rebuilt, refurbished or renewed . This includes all mechanical, chassis, internal wooden frame, body panels, upholstery .
The car has a Holden Body ( number 333 ) which was built in Woodville S.A.
I also built entirely the rear trunk which is period correct for the car balancing up its Six Wheel fitout.
It won Restored Car of the Year when completed and then took out all the prizes it was eligible for in the subsequent All Chrysler Day including Top Car Of The Show.
It has won many prizes since it was restored including on a recent National Chrysler Rally in McLaren Vale , Cowra in N.SW and Warnabool in Victoria taking off 1st in Class.
