History
I purchased the bike from an enthusiast in Tasmania in June 2021 who had owned it since December 2018.
I believe the previous owner was from Queensland and owned the bike for about 20 years.
It is a UK spec T120 with 4 gallon tank and QD rear wheel.
It has matching numbers and in original condition except for some additional chrome plating (fork sliders & rear brake back plate), external oil filter cartridge discreetly fitted and Koni period rear shockies.
It was restored in 2003 to a high standard and used very little since (just over 5700kms).
When being restored the cylinder barrel, pistons, valves, valve guides, valve seats, cam followers, clutch plates and basket, primary chain and sprockets, alternator stator and rotor, and main chain and sprockets were replaced.
A new correct cloth covered wiring loom, Lucas head and tail light, and switchgear were fitted. The tacho and speedo were restored with new drives and cables for each. Koni rear shocks replaced the tired originals.
The metal parts of the bike were sandblasted, with the bike then being refinished in two pack. The fuel tank and guards were painted using the correct candy apple technique (Astral Red), and white pinstripes applied rather than the gold stripes of the T120R.
The rims were re-chromed and new stainless spokes fitted, with the rear wheel being the "Quickly Detachable" type.
This is a sweet bike to bike with only a bit of Amal jetting and timing adjustments needed plus I have replaced the front brake pads.
