History
One of only 500 lightweight RHD versions of the 3.0 CSL made for homologation purpose for racing.
These 3.0 CSL were actually considered the very first of the BMW 'M' Motorsport cars.
The 3.0 CSL dominated the European Touring Car Championship, winning six championship titles between 1973 and 1979.
It was also successful in world’s most famous endurance races, scoring overall wins at Sebring 12 hours (1975), Daytona 24 hours (1976) and three class wins at 24h Le Mans (1973, 1974, 1977).
CSL stands Coupé Sport Leichtbau (Lightweight). My car has an aluminium bonnet, boot lid, doors and thinner gauge steel for the roof.
Modifications
The car is all original and matching numbers. Imported from UK in 2009. This 3.0 CSL has a known history of ownership, maintenance receipts and registration paperwork dating back to 1972.
