My dad bought this car new as a 6 cylinder 4 speed with 37 km as an ex Demonstrator (rules at the time allowed this, since changed). It was one of the first VK's. It was truly grandpa spec when I got it off him, it was also slow, thirsty ( it hated unleaded fuels) bit scary in corners and didnt like stopping quickly. So not that nice to drive. but unable to garage it the paint went off very quickly. My dad has since passed and as we had always talked about putting a better motor in it i am rebuilding it to something better and something I hope he would like. My dad was also a performance enthusiast (so was my Mum) but Family life and practicalities got in the way. I think my Dad would approve of what I have planned.
