History
Bought this unit in 1980and restored it to origional condition. The 2 stroke fumes where not acceptable and I fitted a Honda ch250 scooter rear end. This unit features 10" wheels, so the front wheels complete with disk brakes where introduced.This required enlarging the wing arches. This motor is a great unit but I could not fix the slipping centrifugal clutch negociating my steep drive way.
Modifications
The years hit 2017 and China offered a complete battery operated kit for A$ 7000.00 I gutted the Honda leaving the swinging arm and mounted the 10Kw 3 pole motor on top of it. Connected motor and swinging arm with a 50mm wide tooth belt and bingo.Now I got fore and reverse top speed of 95 km/h and a range of 80km.
The only drawback is the 65kg battery is using the passenger area,but these units are getting smaller, one day I might get more room in the cabin
