History
This "airbus" Was born in Brisbane 1950 The fuselage was used as an engine test bed in Archerfield during the war, after it was shipped from the Nothern Teritoty, were it was force landed. A ships plumber under the Story Bridge bought it and knowing how create compound sheetmetal parts converted it to to a campervan. An acident forced him to put the bus on block.I saw it by chance and it changend hands.
Modifications
The Green Diamond petrol motor suffered fuel vaporation, and I replaced it with a 6 cyl. Izusu with box. For 15 years I carted a pianola on a 1926 overland ute, to entertain people at shows. Now I had to get this instrument into the bus.I an an ex Aviator and familiar with heavy transport. The only and best way was to open the bus ones more and fit a full width cargo door.Hydraulic where fitted later to lift it. Now I added a mini Fairgroung Orgen to the fun. It is sitting on rails and moved into the open on performance days.Werner
