History
My first car, purchased from my mother when I obtained my licence in 1971 at 18. Give a hard life during my uni days and traded in for my HQ Monaro in 1974. Probably went to the wreckers.
Note: the car pictured is not my old car but a similar vehicle I spotted it Hanging Rock 2016 - hope the owner doesn't mind, it brought back many great memories.
Modifications
The engine was overhauled and bored out from 1500 cc to 1622 cc. The SU carby was replaced with a Zenith from the Morris Major Elite. Other mods were fitting seatbelts, sports steering wheel, tacho, 2" sports exhaust and driving lights. It sounded great driving down Bridge St in Ballarat and echoing off the shop windows!
