History
In 1972 my late Mother got herself in a spot of bother buying the used 1964 XM Falcon from a dodgy car yard who locked her into repayments she eventually could not afford.
Though a Ford man, this was not my first choice of car that I wanted to own however I couldn't let Mum down and so took over the car and the repayments. I was just 17 and had landed my first job.
Automatic, white roof and pale yellow coloured body I added 6" rims, sports steering wheel and a radio...plus two pillows in the back parcel shelf...I thought the old girl was the bee's knee's.
When it reached 100,000 miles on the clock my mates and I got out and pushed it for 100m out of respect.
Sadly some years later the old girl was involved in an accident and was eventually taken off the road and sold.
Many a trip with a car load of mates was had in this Falcon and the memories are still fresh for some of the things we got up to.
This photo was taken in 1972 at Spikey Bridge on the East Coast of Tasmania.
