History
NZ-spec Cordia, assembled by Todd Motors and privately imported into Australia by a previous owner in 1998. The car went to auction in 2015, was briefly held by the buyer and then bought by myself.
As a teen in the 90s, Cordias were plentiful and I liked their unique styling. This was in contrast to their notoriety amongst P-platers as one of the cheaper used turbos on the market, undoubtedly a factor in their gradual disappearance from roads.
Although the GSR was the stronger performer, recent history has been kinder on the GSL and it is now a mysterious head-turner in its own right. Free from the abuse most Turbo models received, they enjoy higher survival rates and provide a snapshot of Mitsubishi's styling at its most eccentric.
Modifications
Since purchase I have swapped the Todd Motors steel wheels with factory-optioned alloys, as well as replacing the tired exhaust with a discrete new system. A period-correct Alpine cassette deck has also been fitted.
