History
My parents bought this car brand new from Katoomba Leyland in July and it was delivered in September 1973
And an extra cool thing is we lived on Conrod Straight, Mount Panorama Bathurst at the time; I still have the books showing this.
Something which helps fuel my lifelong love of classics, motorsport and P76s
After 10 years as the family car it was given to me as a Christmas present in December 84
I had a wonderful time with the car for 3 years.
Unfortunately a friend crashed it but I am currently using some of the components in restoring another P76
Indeed I have and will always have a P76 as even with a stable of classics including an XJ12 Jaguar, 850R Volvo and Range Rover Autobiography the P76 is still the most all round fun especially for a spirited drive. And you can't beat the V8 burble from the twin pipes.
Modifications
I added many Targa Florio and Executive parts until I had all options available including factory Air-conditioning, Power Steer, Targa Florio Alloy wheels and even the super rare Force 7 Tacho & Steering wheel, along with nice stereo and some cloth seat inserts, uprated sway bars, Twin exhaust with extractors.
Memories
This was my first car, It was also my family's first P76 which my parents bought new when we lived on Conrod Straight, Mt Panorama
Lots of great memories with this car and I am restoring one now, using a lot of the original parts
