History
The car was imported into Australia some time in the 1990s and converted to right hand drive at that time, using a (slightly narrowed) XA Falcon dash and steering column with XB GS instruments. When I bought the car it had 14 x 7 and 14 x 8 Dragways on it, ratty interior and carpet (both threadbare) and a black canvas roof that appears to have been sourced and made in Australia. None of the instruments worked but the speedo and volt gauge, and it had already been fitted with a 3.7 (locked) disc brake 9 inch. I have since replaced all the dash instruments and got them working, repaired the damaged centre console, installed new carpet and underlay (switching the power seat base to the right hand side while doing this), rewired much of the underdash and engine bay wiring, installed an electronic distributor and electronic coil, retrimmed the seats, had a set of extractors fabricated and installed, added a new twin exhaust system front to back including stainless XB GT tips, rewired the stereo system, refurbished the 4 core radiator, put in new wheel bearings and slotted disc rotors, new strut bars, new engine and gearbox mounts, installed air shocks in the rear to improve handling and rake, and done work on the hood folding mechanism to make the roof go up and down properly. A flashlube has been installed to combat valve recession, and the original AFB Carter carby (which was missing many pieces and leaking through the butterflies) replaced with a rebuilt Holley 750 CFM vac sec square bore.
