History
This is my fifth Peugeot 203, and the three previous owners of this one are all friends with strong interests in French vehicles. My earlier cars were a 1955 203 saloon, 1956 203 saloon, 1955 forward-drive D4A van and a 1955 Familiale station wagon, all superb vehicles which covered many tens of thousands of miles in my hands. The D4A, a former French Gendarmerie Nationale Police van in south-west France, commuted all over Europe, with quarterly runs from the south of France to London's Portobello Road, and return via Venice. The 1956 saloon was successful in Group J historic racing as well as being my daily driver for over a decade, and the station wagon served as my auction house delivery vehicle for ten years in central Sydney. The green 203 is a highly original example which I've been going through with sensitive improvements. It's a great road car and fantastic on dirt roads, with superb steering and excellent handling.
