History
Our 1926 Austin 12/4 Tourer was delivered in Sydney in early 1926, and fitted with Australian coachwork. The early history is unknown, but by 1970, the car had been dismantled, together with two other Austin 12s of 1925 and 1927, and all the parts mixed up. It remained in this state until 2016 when it was sold, unidentified, in an antique furniture auction, as a complete "basket case". It took twelve months to correctly identify all of the original components of the 1926 car and to rebuild the engine and gearbox. The coachwork was then completed and the comprehensive restoration car is now fully complete but for final assembly of the engine ancillaries and trim.
