History
Ordered new in 2013, I only wanted the base model as I liked the contrast of the black body trim against the white paint. However, a base model at the time was so basic as to be prehistoric - no air-con, a miserable little monochrome touch screen audio set-up with only two speakers, no tonneau cover, no wheel trims and a 6-speed manual transmission! So the options box was ticked for climate control air-con, the beaut ZF six-speed auto, the 8-inch colour touch screen audio set-up with six speakers, a limited slip diff, a set of mud flaps and a tonneau cover. After a six-week wait whilst the boffins in Broadmeadows built it, I then added a heavy-duty towbar, sun visor, a venetian blind for the rear window, a set of white walls and some wheel trims to give it a 1960's retro look and remind me of my motoring youth. (I also wanted a set of rear wheel spats, however nobody was interested in making them for me.) After seven years I'm still highly enamoured of my ute. It's a thorough delight to drive (especially out on the open road) with the comfort of a sedan and now I don't need a box trailer any more for haulage jobs. (And I've only got half a cabin to keep clean!)
