History
This vehicle was sent to a wrecking yard in 1985 where one of the staff member's noted the odd body style. After speaking to a contact at Toyota he was advised that very few of the liftback version came to Australia.
It was then that the staff member, Richard Usher, decided to purchase the vehicle as a restoration project. after a few year's of weekend tinkering in the garage doing a light restoration the vehicle was put back on the road. The Corona was then used as Richard's daily driver to and from work for the next 16 year's including a few car show's.
After Richard retired in 2009 the car somewhat in need of more attention was parked up in garage and deregistered.
A few years later Richard decided he wanted the car back on the road, only this time it was going to need more than just a light restoration.
The car was stripped to a bare shell and treated to a full concourse restoration.
every steering & suspension component is brand new and where possible only genuine part's have been used. most of which had to be sourced from over sea's.
the engine, gearbox & differential have been fully reconditioned.
The car was put back on the road in August 2022 with the surprise unveiling for Richard who was unaware the restoration had been finished at the Shannons Sydney Classic, also winning 3rd place in the concourse 1960-1969 Cars.
