History
For as long as I can think, I have always wanted a Mercedes Benz. I remember as a small child seeing my uncle's Mercedes and thinking how beautiful a car it was and more importantly, thinking how good it would be to have my own. Many years later, I achieved my goal when I purchased a 1998 CLK320.
I'd looked at 4 door models, later models and even the SLK convertible, but while all of them had their advantages, none of them could 'tick all of the boxes' whereas the CLK did (eg, AMG enhancements, sunroof, etc).
The search to find just the right one took some time as I knew exactly what I wanted and there wasn't any urgency in the purchase. So towards the end of 2009, I heard about the Mercedes-Benz Car Club of WA's Display Day and decided to have a look around. After speaking to the Club President, he referred me to one currently for sale and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since the purchase I haven't looked back and the interesting thing is that now I have the opportunity to own one and place it under more scrutiny, I can see why Mercedes-Benz have the reputation for making the world's best cars!
