History
This resto started out as a joke between myself and my son, my son was into SS Commodores at the time and he used to bragg about how fast his car was. I used to argue that some of the old school cars would whoop his behind but he wouldn't listen so I challenged him. I said I will get the worst car I could find and build a car that would run him down lol, so I got a sigma and was the butt of all jokes for nearly 2 years until the sigma was finished.
Fully restored by me, engine, interior, paint and panel.....I decide to see if I could find original Sigma Turbo parts, only 500 made and it was tuff but I got all the parts in the end. The motor was the cars original 2ltr with a T03 turbo and suck through cd carby and a 2.6 ltr camshaft, stock bottom end and a 3 inch exhaust. I decide to to see how much boost she would take so jacked the turbo up to 18 psi, it didn't disappoint. 205kw, went like a rocket.
Needless to say that on the day of the race on private property with my sons SS commodore, he didn't stand a chance and lost miserably lol.
This little car with the bad reputation has surprised a lot of the big boys toys, old school rules.
Sold the car a few years back to finance my Torana resto but I wish I still had it as it got a lot of looks and a lot of comments like....is that a SIGMA, you've got to be kidding lol.
Modifications
3 inch straight through exhaust, T03 turbo, lowered lovell springs all round, 4 wheel disc brakes, scoop and spoilers, modified CD carby, 2.6ltr cam, custom interior, Turbo Sigma wheels.
