History
Acquired as a rescue mission from being entombed behind a wall in a garage in Sydney for 40 years. The vehicle was totally dismantled and had obviously had a very hard life.
Originally imported as a chassis into Sydney probably in 1928 / 9 where it was fitted with a 2 seat sports body, allegedly one of two built with this design, The car was reputedly used, possibly in club style races at Marroubra Speedway in the early 1930's, it certainly looked like it had been severely damaged at some point, requiring some chassis repair and straightening during our restoration.
We have now almost completed a full restoration with a new body in aluminium rather than the original steel, but in very similar style to the original.
It is anticipated "Rufus" will have his debut long club run in November 2017, having had his first run under his own power in April 2017.
