History
Purchased in 1988 after selling my RX2. Was originally painted plum dinger going by the paint code. Was in Tangarine when I got it and had GTR trim. Had been a race car since the mid 70's and had not been road registered. I bought it off a multiple Sport Sedan Champion who procured it for his son to race. She was a bit of a roughie, but the bones were good. I slotted an Ian Tate built motor in and tidied it up. Another driver unfortunately "buzzed" the engine at Philip Island and broke the camshaft, creating a lot of carnage internally. I didn't get to race it unfortunately as my meagre Apprentice wages wouldn't allow. I sold it to another Torana freak in 1994 who got her up and running again. He did some research and found that it was actually a 73 Bathurst XU-1.- allegedly. Oh well, if it was, you live and learn. It didn't have any of the original running gear in it when I bought it. It still lives today and does Club Sprints etc.,
