History
in 1979 i bought it for $400. ex-police [victoria] light blue JND105. the person i bought it from , acquired it from the retired police officer who drove it when it was based at frankston, it was bullet straight but rusty and i actually built one good car out of two. the other car was a rolling shell ex-drag car which i purchased for $100 from a serious bikie dude. it was a complete rebuild. after lawry von ferson[dutch and a talented metal craftsman] restored each panel without using fillers; after a 13 year rebuild i drove it. after another 21 years i sold it.
Modifications
jim linnell installed his 'hi tech' front suspension and steering components; and vented disc brakes. artfully; jim also provided 'quick-action' steering arms which made the steering more active. i had a dream to drive appendix 'j' racing. tri-y headers were custom made into a dual exhaust with lukey mufflers.1960's hurst floor shifter.1960's american 'daisy' 14x7 wheels. valiant charger fuel cap. 1964 mercedes benz day/night chrome rear vision mirror. mercedes benz thermo fan.
interesting note; the 'victoria police' vehicles had the wipers 'sweep' modified to suit right hand drive. the metalwork was bronze welded and lead-filled to the finest finish.
the rhs front bumper over-rider is crooked because; at night, while crossing the bridge at taggerty the stude hit a wombat. the vombatidae survived because of the disc brakes. i left the bumper bar crooked to always remind me of the unexpected.
