Imported from Phoenix 2012.
One of approx. 2100 GT convertibles produced in ’66, though not sure how many were manuals.
The GT Convertibles were selected as the Indy 500 pace cars for 1966.
Mercury produced 100 special cars for the event; three were used as actual pace cars, another 33 were used as parade cars and for official purposes and the balance of the 100 were sold to the public.
This vehicle is one of the parade cars.
Car has power top, power windows and even intermittent wipers!!
Modifications
Standard right down to the UNPOWERED DRUM brakes, I have now fitted a booster.
