History
Car was purchased as a stolen/recovered from the original owner when I was 19 (1985), then I sourced all the missing parts, had it resprayed, and it was then my daily driver.
Modifications
I sourced the 308 engine from a HT Premier, which then ended up being stroked to 344 cubic inches using 265 Hemi conrods, the crankshaft being ground offset a quarter of an inch, with a few other modifications by a guy in Granville that use to own Superflow Heads back in the day, Colin.
The transmission was sourced from a guy responding to my Trading Post ad wanting something a bit stronger than the M21 that was now missing from my Torana. He had purchased from new an XY GTHO Phase 3 Bathurst Falcon, but had converted it automatic so that his wife could drive it, and sold me the Toploader for $700 back in 1985. First gear was that tall it would do 140km/h at 7000rpm with a 3.1:1 9 inch diff put together by Chris Soulos at Diff Conversions.
