History
Bought from a previous owner that had it stored for 10 years, the paint is a bit rough on the top but sides are still reasonable, the car is a low klm survivor car and will be brought back to reliable driving condition to be showed as a standard survivor vehicle, the car shows 66xxxklms, previous owner stated that is original klms, belief would be that it's been around once at most (166xxxklms) due to great condition of all wearable parts (foot pedal rubbers, floor covering, engine bay condition etc)
The car requires basic mechanical work of which would be expected after a 15 year storage, ie: all fluids replaced, filters, fuel lines and fuel pump, brakes checked and sorted, tyres, radiator and hoses, shocks and some rubbers.
Since purchase we have cleaned and restored the dash to as new as the vehicle will one day be restored completely, this saves us doing the job twice.
EDIT: We have been fortunate enough to have obtained the history of this car through the previous owner, This car does in fact have a genuine 66,000klms on it, it has not seen the road in over 25 years! I will in fact be the 2nd registered owner of the car, The car was bought as a personal vehicle and not a commercial vehicle from Plaisteds of Nundah, North Brisbane area, The original owned had passed away and was then given to a cousin who sat it untouched under their house, from there again it was moved on to another storage location where it sat for many years, then in 2017, It came into my possession,
Since taking ownership we have sourced and fitted a brand new genuine Toyota dash pad, cleaned all interior parts and refitted, fitted the original windscreen, changed all fluids, replaced or reconditioned the entire cooling system and fuel system, new strut tops and 4 new shock absorbers have been fitted, we are currently awaiting the arrival of genuine new front drum brake system as the original was ceased, then it will be off for new tyres and registration for the first time in almost 30 years! It will see registration again in the next month or 2 (todays date, 11/07/18)
Edit 30/10/18:
The little KE26 has now been re-registered, after speaking with the previous owner we have realized this is the first time it's been registered since 1994 (24years!) We have reconditioned the original type 4 wheel drum brakes with all new wheel cylinders, brake lines, pads etc, the electrics have been gone over and fresh fluids through the entire car, we have fitted 4 new tyres and fixed a few little things about the car,
it was driven for the first time without a hitch and did a 25klm trip on it's first day, We have since taken it to it's first local car meet with our car club with my Orange KE20 coupe and will be repeating at another local car meet this weekend!
