History
Whilst on the hunt for my very first car I always wanted something unique as all my friends were buying later model Falcon's and Commodores. In 1997 I was flicking through the Trading Post and found a Valiant Pacer in Bendigo. Initially my heart was set on a two door VF Valiant but thought a Pacer might be worth checking out seeing as it was only an hour away. After checking it out I decided I had to have it. The car was originally sold by Norm Beechey Car Sales in the short time he was a Chrysler dealer in 1970-71. I drove the car home one night on my L Plates as I was only 16 at the time and after blasting through town my dad asked me how quick I was going to which I replied only 60. It was then that my dad realised he needed to teach me that MPH and KM/H are very different! After gaining my licence the Pacer was put in to everyday usage along with trips to car shows and motor racing across Victoria and NSW. It's only in recent years it has been retired from everyday use to weekend duties. Other cars have come and gone from my collection but the Pacer is a stayer, this year will mark 20 years of ownership and I can't imagine ever selling after so many great times and good stories with this car.
