History

The beginning - Started off as a very clean 56,000km (Genuine) 1998 Toyota Supra SZR that I picked up from Sydney (1 owner Japan, 1 Owner Aus). So starting with a nice clean 6 speed, LSD, carbon fibre steering wheel, REAS suspension all it was missing was a 2JZGTE (also some recaros and 4pot brakes), the SZR did make a healthy 135rwkw.

Conversion (Going TT) - So then I found a cheap engine conversion, one thing lead to another and I converted it to an RZ (well I did the conversion properly with all original parts with the addition of some BPU mods), it had its ups and down with issues from sellers/others involved but I really knew nothing about cars but soon learnt, once finished made 260rwkw @ 16psi. This kept me happy and broke for a while until I wanted more power. I did a few mods in this time and it was a daily driver.

Going broke - Single Turbo (Current) - Then so it begun, the expensive part of supra ownership - Going single turbo! This project took a lot longer because I wasn’t throwing money or credit cards at it at once and also at one stage I wasn’t sure on my employment status. After getting it running on stock ECU without an exhaust I said no I need to finish this properly, so ended up getting the fabrication, fuel system and ECU done as well as lots of other upgrades (battery relocation, new wheels, suspension and 4/2 brakes). I did all the work myself with the assistance from a few others (Thanks Nathan and Andy - also any other supraforums members) with the exception of the fabrication work and tuning.

Once again I learnt lots and also spent lots! The way the car is at the minute is all the car is ready to go 1000hp at some stage, so quality parts were installed in preparation for a bigger build - I could have got the same power for a lot cheaper but then had to sell and buy new parts again - so car is under powered for it’s spec list for sure!

The car made 390rwkw @ 23psi with lots of ignition break up issues, I’ve now resolved the problem (igniter) and got it back on the dyno making 420rwkw with 24.5psi, with some new cams I’m hoping for 450rwkw on 98 pump and closer to 500rwkw with E85.
