History
After my neck reconstruction surgery in June 2021 I bought my 2018 1200s Monster but sadly discovered that although the neck was MUCH better than it had been, I was still unable to ride a bike with the slightest hint of an aggressive riding position, so It was regretfully sold in Feb 2022 and a month later I found this exquisite 2017 BMW R1200 GS Rallye for private sale on the GC. I had 18k klm on her and not a single mark blemish or stone chip. I spent more $$$ than I wanted too but I just couldn't say no.
I have never ridden such an easy bike to ride. If not for its capacity, power and weight, this would make an excellent beginner bike.
I am however still coming to terms with the telilever suspension setup. It feels strange but Ill get there eventually... I hope.
As for my neck I am not having any issues riding this very "upright" bike. The luxuries on it are welcomed like the heated grips and cruise control with the added benefit of the up/dn quick shifter. I've noticed that the quick shifter does not seem to like below 3rd to 4th in either direction but otherwise its silky smooth.
Out of its 20ltr tank Im getting 400klm + as my average consumption is 4.3lts/100klm.
