History
Originally a Redlands bike, it was purchased by the Australian Motorcycle Museum (since closed down) and put on display for many years. I purchased it from the museum’s owners and stripped it for a full restoration. Sitting unused for a couple of decades does no favours to any vehicle. So a complete rebuild was undertaken. Completed Initially in black livery with gold pin striping, I changed it to Interstate guise with metallic blue and silver stripes. It is currently in this format with the black tank and side covers stored for alternate use when required.
Modifications
Resleeved with new standard pistons, standard big end slippers, new ‘Superblend’ mains, PW3 cam, Black Diamond valves and springs. Power Arc electronic ignition with dual fire, wasted spark and selectable advance curves. Resleeved brake master cylinder down to 13mm and aftermarket drilled and lightened disc brake. Vernier isolastics fitted and a Norman White shimmed head steady. Keggler swinging arm modification to lock the shaft securely. Air horn replaces the original less than audible one. Now an Interstate long range Commando.
