Gerry and Ashley have had over 70 years combined experience with the Classic Volvos and has been involved in Rallying & Racing and preparing the cars. Gerry has completed two London to Sydney Rallies, the very 1st one in 1968.
Shannon Club News wrote in 13/1/15 "Volvo stalwart Gerry Lister racing his 122S two-door at Sydney’s Warwick Farm in 1966. This RHD car had been specially prepared for competition use by the factory in Sweden, featuring a powerful 140 bhp engine, close-ratio gearbox, uprated suspension and big 18-gallon (82-litre) fuel tank. It could do 120 mph (190km/h) and had excellent fuel economy."

Ashley has been involved with Volvos for many years and is still running a Volvo 122S in Targa Tasmania. Targa Australia run the world's largest, longest and hardest tarmac rally event- Targa Tasmania. The concept of the Targa is drawn directly from the best features of the Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, the Coupe des Alpes and the Tour de Corse. However, Targa Tasmania is not a slow motion re-run; it is a genuine "red-blooded" motorsport competition.
