Care factor zero
It's taken me a while but my wife and I have now transferred our policies to other providers. We had two house, one contents and seven vehicles insured with shannons. Trying to talk with them over the phone is an absolute nightmare. Having to listen to M.O for several minutes even before choosing an option is so frustrating. Waiting on hold for up to 50 minutes many times is completely unsatisfactory. Trying to get someone to call you back is near impossible. I needed to talk with a person from Shannons to resolve a complication with my policies and gave up after six attempts and waiting on hold for what seemed an eternity. Cost of Insurance with Shannons is prohibitive these days, we have saved thousands with other providers.

Dishonest penny pinchers
Had extreme restricted use policy and then went into Victorians 260+ day lockdown and when asking Shannons to refund me for the time I spent not driving the car they try to rely on some policy stipulating this and that like it was my fault for not reading the fine print and ultimately relying on this not to refund the 260+ days of non use when they know very well Victorians are in a lockdown and have done nothing but pass the buck onto me .

Hi Perri, we understand Victorians had an especially tough time during the extended lockdowns, with only a few occasions to drive for leisure.
Our extreme limited usage restriction is designed for vehicles that are driven 1-2 times per month, and spend most of their time in the garage. This restricted cover option comes with significantly lower premiums compared to daily, or limited use policies.
We are unable to provide a backdated refund on this occasion, as cover against accidental damage for your vehicle while it was garaged was still in place. This cover also extended to any drives you may have gone on within the restrictions at the time.

No loyalty No care just another insurer with one hand open the other closed
27 years of paying these people 9 current policies and all they want to do is shaft me. In the Shannons claim section they change their hat to Suncorp and there lies the problem. First claim EVER for me,and its under 10g and what a nightmare. No point in paying them anymore its just DEAD money, they want you to accept sub-par repairs, cut corners or take a greatly reduced settlement now thats insurance fraud in my books
