4 Wheel Driving
Toyota Landcruiser Club (Qld) runs trips all year round to various
parts of our wonderful country and through varying environments. We
aim to ensure our members become more aware of their surroundings
whilst enjoying th egreat outdoors. The club runs trips that are
rated from very easy/scenic through to extreme. Each member is able
to participate on any of the trips dependant on their vehicle type and experience.
Most of our four wheel drive outings are either day trips or run over
a weekend, however we do conduct extended trips several times a year
to places such as the Simpson Desert, Cape York, Tasmania, Victorian
High Country, the Kimberley and Outback Queensland. We have access to
many private properties as well as using our surrounding state
forests, national parks, private 4WD parks and the sand islands.
Driver Education
The Toyota Landcruiser Club (Qld) Inc. runs education programs
several times a year (numbers permitting) that allow our members to
become more confident in all aspects of four wheel driving. The
course, run by our accredited club instructors, covers all aspects of
four wheel driving such as basic vehicle maintenance, trip
preparation, basic first-aid, map/GPS reading, recovery safety and
general four wheel driving skills. The course also allows new members
to become more accustomed to club procedures, socialise with existing
members and build confidence in their own ability off road.
Activities
Throughout the year the Toyota Landcruiser Club (Qld) Inc. enjoys a
range of social events that compliment our desire to 'head bush'.
These social activities include such events as our annual trophy
presentation dinner, progressive dinner dances, organised group
dinners, social day trips to various places of interest, trivia
nights, car rallys and end of year Christmas break-up. The club also
particpates in bigger events such as the annual four wheel drive
coorboree and environmental clean up days around Queensland.
Management
The TLCC has a management committee, made up of our own members who
have volunteers their time. They ar there to keep the administration
aspects of the club functioning and to represent the club on behalf of
its members at various larger functions and gatherings. Apart from
the many four wheel drive outings, the club also offers social
activities and educational programs.
