The Rover Owners’ Club Inc., caters for the needs of Rover
enthusiasts in NSW and the ACT. Meetings are held in Sydney on the
fourth Wednesday of each month, at the Veteran Car Club of Australia
premises at 134 Queens Road, Five Dock. The meetings start at 8 pm,
and usually consist of a general business meeting followed by a guest
speaker or other appropriate entertainment, plus, of course,
interesting exchanges of technical ideas and advice. The Club Library
and Club Shop are regular features of our monthly meetings. A light
supper is usually served after the meeting.
Club outings and activities take place both within the Sydney area
and in regional areas of NSW such as Newcastle / Hunter Valley, the
Southern Highlands, and the South Coast.
The Club comprises approximately 200 members. Owners, or drivers,
of any Rover vehicle (including 4WD) are welcome to join. The joining
fee is $25.00, and the annual subscription is $35.00, a total of
$60.00 for the first year. The club year runs from 01 January to 31
December. The subscription includes 11 issues of “Freewheeling”, the
Club’s monthly magazine, and participation in the Club’s weekly
“RoverNet” e-mail information system. Access to either the NSW or ACT
historic registration scheme is available to club members with
compliant vehicles.
Club activities include drives to interesting venues, social
events, the occasional car “wrecking bee”, outings with other car
clubs, and participation in a variety of display days such as
Shannon’s Eastern Creek Classic, the All British Day at the Kings
School, and of course, our own Annual Display Day which is the main
event of our Club Year. Visitors are very welcome at any time, to
both meetings and outings.
