The Northern Rivers Vintage & Veteran Car Club Inc. was formed in
Lismore in 1960 by 12 men who had a common interest in old vehicles.
They met at the Lismore Council Chambers and first named the group
"The Northern Rivers Vintage Car Club". Two foundation
members Mr. Bob Trevan and Mr. Graeme Fitzgerald are still members today.
The first rally was held in 1961 in conjunction with the Floral
Carnival. Every year since the NRVVCC hosts a rally which sees 80 to
100 vehicles take part. The club has hosted 6 hub rallies and in 2010
we hosted our 50th Anniversary rally which involved 6 days of rallying
in Lismore and surrounding areas, and had 130 veteran, vintage and
classic vehicles participate.
In 1968 the club changed it's name to "The Northern Rivers
Vintage & Veteran Car Club Inc." Over the years the club has
had a large variety of vehicles registered, we currently have 70
members and 72 vehicles/bikes and trucks registered on Conditional Registration.
We accepted all vehicles/bikes older than 31st December 1980 of
original design.
Over the years the club has had many meeting places it currently
meets at the LISMORE WORKERS CLUB on the second Wednesday each month
at 7.30pm.
We welcome all visitors and new members..
