The interest in establishing The Mackay & District Holden Club
started off late 2003, with a group of enthusiastic Holden owners who
were keen to find a group of people that shared some common interests.
Restoring, repairing, driving, racing and showing off their Holden cars.
The club is very family orientated and has over 120 members,
these including family and singles. We have a variety of Holden models
within our club ranging from the 48/215 right up to the latest model
Holdens,
although watch this space as big things are changing.
The majority of our members live in the Mackay district but we have
members as far south as Rockhampton, north to Townsville and west to
Emerald. Some of our members are keen motor racing fans with some of
us travelling Interstate to attend motor sporting events.
We meet at the Mackay PCYC every 2nd Tuesday of the month at
7pm to discuss the latest news concerning the club and to arrange last
Sunday of the month cruises.
The club currently has many sponsors that will give you as a
club member, goods and services at great prices.
When our club attends a Motor Show or Show and Shine a lot of time
and effort is put into not only showcasing our cars but our sponsors
profile as well. Our club has been lucky enough to find some local
businesses that are very interested in supporting our club.
We hold two major car shows our very own All Holden Day and
the very popular "Cars 4 Kids". Both of which we encourage
our club members to attend. Each show is held bi-annually. The next
show will be the Cars 4 Kids 2017
. It doesn't matter what condition your car is in we have
trophies and prizes covering every category. Show cars, Drag cars,
Everyday drivers, Works in progress, Utes, Sedans, Panel vans, Work
cars, the list goes on?
If you're a Holden enthusiast and your car has a Holden or GMH
compliance plate you're as good as in. But if you don't own a Holden
that's ok just as long as you love them as much as us.
