HUMBERS AT BIRDWOOD MOTOR MUSEUM

By Carclub - 08 May 2016

At long last after months of planning, the time has now finally arrived for our participation in the celebration of the Birdwood Museum 50th Anniversary with our Humber display in full progress over a 3 month period, by taking pride of place within an area allocated by the museum and designated as “the clubspace”.

Our display, commenced on 17th April with the vehicles of Dwayne Compton (1939 Super Snipe), Tim Macpherson (Mark 4A Super Snipe), David Robinson (Mark 6A Hawk + “Streak” bicycle) and Wendy Averay (Vogue Series 3).

Special thanks to Barbara and Eric for assisting myself and Wendy in setting up the display which comprised glass cabinets for memorabilia, our two recently purchased teardrop banners, vehicle display boards and two new pull-up banners depicting the Humber “Foundation & Production” and its “Historical Recognition”.

The display period continues until 22th July and during that time, cars will be changed over on the specific nominated dates as noted below:

1st May: - Eric & Barbara Austin (1948 Mark 2 Super Snipe); Richard Jubb (Tourer); with retention of the current two Humber’s of Dwayne and Tim.

29th May: - John De Boer (Mark 4 Hawk); Robert Koehne (Snipe Mark 3); Winston Bryant (Series 3 Hawk); with retention of the current Tourer of Richard.

26th June: - David Leith (Series 5A Super Snipe); Robert Koehne (Pullman Mark 3); with the retention of the current two Humber’s of Richard and Winston.

Please take a leisurely drive to visit our display and whilst as a Club we have no free entry advantage to members, the cost of $10.00 as concession and/or RAA card will assist. If you travel in your Humber, you are permitted to park on the front foyer entry forecourt in celebration.
