The Humber Club of South Australia Incorporated was formed in 1977
and is governed by a Constitution. It is a “not- for-profit”
organisation relying on income from annual membership fees and fundraising.
Information on the Club is provided as follows:
· Annual membership: The Club averages 50 -
60 members who have a large selection of Humber vehicles and bicycles
across the manufactured range from 1925 to 1967. These would include
such models as Mark and Series Super Snipe, Mark and Series Hawk,
Vogue, Snipe 1948, Snipe 1939 and a 1927 Tourer.
· Office Bearers: President, Vice
President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Officer and Committee to
satisfy the requirements of the Constitution; further supported by
other members for roles covering Membership, Historic Registration,
Magazine Editor, Spare Parts, Events and a representative on the All
British Day Committee.
· Meetings: Held on the 4th Wednesday of
each month (excluding December), located at theSeven 22 Bistro
(Function Room) 722 Port RD. Beverley
· Magazine: Issued as “In Vogue” totalling
6 per annum and produced bi-monthly starting from January/February
each year.
· Spare Parts: A spare parts shed is
available which holds a variety of items, supplemented from time to
time whenever vehicles are sourced and/or made available for dismantling.
· Affiliations: The Rootes Group which
originated from the UK encompasses Humber, Hillman, Singer, Sunbeam,
Commer and Karrier products.
· Events: Generally held monthly and as
Humber is part of the Rootes affiliation, joint events are encouraged.
These are held 4 times per year being All British Day (February),
British Classic Tour (May), Registration Day, (June) and Social Day
(November). The Club also arranges its own individual events for the
remaining months of the year.
· National Rally: In association with other
Australian Humber Clubs formed in Victoria, New South Wales/Canberra
and Queensland; a National Rally is organised by a host State every 2
years on a rotational basis. Adelaide is the next host in 2022-3
· Membership: Membership is not a
pre-requisite of owning a Humber, as the Club welcomes either an
interest in the Humber marque or ownership of other cars of a historic
nature. Annual membership depending on individual or family is $40
Single and $45 family. There is an additional initial once-off
joining fee of $10.00 and a cost of $3.00 for each log book where
required for historic registration.
