A social club built around the love of British Cars, instead of a Car
Club built around a Marque.
Just over 25 years ago the love of British made cars was the conduit
that linked the three driving enthusiasts, John Gagen, Bill McIlroy
and Jack Straughan.. Apart from the importance of belonging to a
single marque Club, John felt that a ‘mixed-marque’ driving Club would
give people the opportunity to use their cars more often, with a
special appeal to those with concessional registration. And so, the
genesis for the All British Classics Car Club was born.
As time rolled on and the Club expanded, and its reputation as a
friendly, family-oriented, non competitive Car Club primarily set up
for members to enjoy driving their vehicles on regular outings has
grown. This multi-marque drivers Club is open to anyone who has an
interest in British vehicles regardless of ownership, make, model, age
or condition and including specials. ‘British vehicle’ includes any
vehicle that was manufactured in or can trace its origin to, the
United Kingdom. Indeed, vehicles, owned by the membership of this
Club, range from Bentleys to Minis, with most marques in between
represented. Laid back, informal environment, we have only one formal
meeting of members per year. The Annual General Meeting, where the
Management Committee are appointed for the coming year. The Committee
are then entrusted with the administration of the Club, leaving
members free to participate in and enjoy outings, without getting
caught up in the administrative matters of running the Club. With a
low membership fee of $40.00 a year, with the ability to do Special
Interest Vehicle Concession Certifying Certificates, regular
newsletters, monthly events and a Private Members Facebook page for
members to take advantage of Impromptu Runs. Where any member can post
an outing or event, quickly and easily, whether a get together for a
drive( even midweek for the members lucky enough) or to just meet up
for a coffee with their cars.
The Club remains as varied as the members are, ‘as indeed their
different makes of cars’ at all times but we try to make the All
British Classics Car Club an organisation that is known for it’s
camaraderie, friendliness and simple enjoyment of driving our British
cars. Our motto reverberates which is ‘if you love it, we love it’.
It's our decision to not engage with any judging of vehicles or
establishing categories within.
If you have an interest in British vehicles and would like to
socialise with like-minded enthusiasts, we would love to hear from
you. Email or send a message if you would like some more information
or an application form.
